Chaia means life. And taco means taco. At Chaia we live for tacos. Which is why that’s pretty much all you’ll see on the menu. We’ve kept our menu small and simple for a reason. Because honestly, we all have enough choices to make in life already AND we want to do one thing really well.  So, we offer just 5 vegetable taco creations at a time (either served in a taco or over green rice which we call the taco-less/tortilla-less option), a few outrageously delicious sides, a soup for when it’s cold, and drinks on tap—from kombucha to beer, tea to rosé. Order the Taco Trio and triple your taste sensation.

Chaia is where fine food and fast casual meet. We offer counter service without a mind-boggling cafeteria line to pick your way through. We’ve carefully created the tacos, you just pick how many and which vegetables strike your fancy. Of course, if you’re vegan and don’t want cheese, or love it super spicy, we can customize accordingly.

Founded by Bettina Stern and Suzanne Simon, Chaia is a female led, female run business that believes everything’s better in a taco and making the world a better place starts with the food we eat. From a stand at the Washington D.C. farmer’s market to our first Georgetown spot, Chaia is expanding in the nation’s capitol and beyond.

Yes, we care intensely about sustainability, and composting, and the environment, and eating less meat to save the planet. But the thing we care about most is that our tacos taste damn delicious. Because then, all the rest is possible.
