Chaia Travel

Let’s Taco ‘bout Mexico City

So much at Chaia is inspired by the food, flavors, and design we discovered on our first trip to Mexico City. Our Director of Ops, Juan, is heading there this week. And although it has been a while, we are often asked to share our favorite restaurants. Here is our go-to list for first-time visitors, but there are many other possibilities and places to discover. It is truly a fantastic destination.

Maximo Bistrot
This is a must for dinner. The food is Mexican meets farm-to-table, which we love. Notice the beautiful white plaster tree with votive candles as you enter. It is stunning.

Contramar
Absolutely one of the best places for lunch. It is bustling, and the food is so delicious.

Azul Condesa
Excellent traditional Mexican food. As you enter the restaurant, they make their own corn tortillas in a beautiful ceramic comal.

Rosetta

For sure! Again, so much beauty in the people and the food..

Pujol

A fancy meal and amazing experience. (For a similar experience, we have also heard good things about Quintonil, but have not yet been).

El Turix

Tacos! Popular lunch spot in Polanca.

Los Chilacos

The best quick-serve chilaquiles.
