Let’s Taco ‘bout The Value of Handmade

Touches of the handmade can transform a meal. There is no substitute for the love and care of the home cook and the individuality brought to a recipe. At Chaia, each of our tacos has enough personality to hold its own, and many of the recipes were inspired by various home cooks. This is what makes Chaia so unique - the irresistible charm of handmade food.

Two of our favorite summer tacos are on the menu now and include fresh herbs - basil and sorrel. Native to the tropical regions of Asia and Africa, basil has a sweet, pungent and slightly spicy flavor while sorrel is known for its acidic, citrus taste reminiscent of lemon zest.

Tip: the best way to store fresh herbs is to loosely wrap them in a damp paper towel and keep them in a tightly sealed container or reusable bag in the fridge. This prevents oxygen from wilting the leaves.
