Let's Taco 'Bout Gratitude for Moms
This Mother's Day, we want to shine a light on all the moms who work at Chaia and contribute to our success while simultaneously giving so much of themselves to their children and families. We've been pleased to see that the challenges mothers or prospective mothers face in the hospitality industry are becoming an increasingly prevalent conversation topic. We know so much still needs to be done to support mothers/future mothers and equalize opportunities for career advancement in this space. At Chaia, we work hard to ensure our company culture is nurturing, inclusive, purpose-driven, and growth-oriented – all of the things that we believe are core to supporting working mothers.
These efforts are win-win. In the hospitality industry, especially, being a caretaker is an asset. Mothers know how to take care of people, even during the longest days and under the most trying circumstances - and isn't this what hospitality is all about? So finding ways to support the caregivers who do so much for our businesses is a boon to our success.
As women who founded a business while we both had three young children, we've been fortunate to have had access to most of the support we needed on the homefront. That doesn't mean it wasn't a struggle or a mess a lot of the time. It means that we are grateful and prioritize making our business a supportive work environment for the mothers - and for all - who make our success possible daily.

Back on the Menu This Week
Our favorite spring taco will be back on the menu this week, featuring sautéed asparagus & spring garlic paired with creamy goat cheese, cherry pepper relish & house-preserved lemon. Asparagus is high in antioxidants, including beta carotene, vitamins C & E, and anti-inflammatory phytonutrients. It also contains high levels of inulin digested in our large intestine, where it is used as food by beneficial digestive bacteria to help with nutrition absorption. Hurray for asparagus!

goat cheese, cherry pepper relish & preserved lemon
