*** SUMMER SOLSTICE ***
Today is the summer solstice, marking the astrological first day of summer and the year's longest day. It is a great reminder that the true heat of the season is just beginning and that the growth and harvesting of so many of our favorite vegetables are here - or soon to come.
We plan to celebrate the day by soaking up some extra sun, appreciating our planet, and eating what's in season. For us, snapping the stems off of green beans is a memorable part of the summer we have bestowed since we were kids. It continues to bring us fulfillment and reminds us that there is a delight in food far beyond what is on the plate.
